At times, life can be challenging. You may feel tired, confused, or like everything is happening all at once. You may doubt yourself or question your purpose in life, leading you to feel overwhelmed or isolated.
Whatever you’re going through, you don’t have to go through it alone. Reaching out for help can be difficult, but you deserve a safe space to process your experiences and emotions, as well as the tools to help you navigate life’s challenges.

Welcome!

My name is Daryna Skybina (she/her) and I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I am also conversationally fluent in Ukrainian and Russian.

I would be honoured to support you in your journey toward healing. I strive to create an empowering space where you can feel safe to explore any topics and concerns, and I believe there is room in therapy for all feelings and emotions.

Education and Training

I completed the Master of Pastoral Studies Program (Buddhist Stream), with a Certificate of Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy from Emmanuel College at the University of Toronto. I also hold a HBSc from the University of Toronto with a Research Specialist in Psychology and a Minor in Buddhism, Psychology, and Mental Health.

I incorporate my training in Spiritual Care into my work by viewing one’s culture and religion, spirituality, or meaning-making system as an important part of their identity. I have experience in supporting individuals from various faith traditions and spiritualities, including those who do not identify with any tradition.

I have experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds in community and hospital settings and have supported them through various issues including:

  • Spiritual/religious identity issues and processing spiritual/religious experiences

  • Managing loss and life transitions

  • Post COVID dilemmas

  • Navigating academic stress and finding balance

  • Developing healthy coping skills

  • Navigating Interpersonal Relationships

My Approach

I use an eclectic approach to psychotherapy that integrates aspects of various therapeutic approaches including Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. In our sessions we will work together to figure out the best approach for you.

I believe in the importance of whole-person care and am interested in understanding what’s important for you and bringing that into our work together. I recognize religion and/or spirituality may be an important part of your life and have experience inviting religion and spirituality into psychotherapy.

I am here to support you through past, present, and future challenges. I look forward to hearing from you and starting our work together.

Services and Fees

I am currently accepting clients virtually from across Ontario . My sessions are typically 60 minutes in length and are $160. Every year there are several reserved spots for a reduced rate. Please contact me to discuss sliding-scale options. Psychotherapy services are covered by most extended health benefit plans. Receipts will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company.

Payments are due at the end of the session by e-transfer. Please notify me at least 24 hours in advance if you wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Unfortunately, if you cancel less than 24 hours before the session you will be responsible for the full appointment fee.

I am available Monday-Friday and occasionally offer weekend appointments. Through ongoing discussion, we will work together to determine the total duration of psychotherapy.
